Welcome to Richmond. Sometimes it feels like a "big" city here with our local events, other times it feels like there's roughly five residents, and Richmond's RVA Fall Fashion Weekend seems to strike a balance of both sentiments.
Last evening the weekend of Fall looks kicked off with a Networking Event at Downtown's Bar Solita. The event served a formal purpose (for press to check in and grab our passes for the weekend), but also served to foster less formal conversation between creatives and business minded talent alike. Taking place at the prime afterwork time, a steady stream of the weekend's participants came and went with a fair amount of handshakes and card swapping.
By now its safe to say we're going to be the only music blog covering Fall Fashion weekend, but that's what its all about. If you've been with us for a while, you know we sell custom pieces by independent designers and collectors over on Morning, Boring. Morning, Boring by Groupie. is all about embracing art of ALL kinds and learning how it can support and engage with music culture. From a fan deciding what to wear to a show to an artist frantically trying to pack the best looks for a tour, you simply can't take fashion out of music.
We hope you'll follow along with us and our blog over these next few days as we discover how the Richmond fashion scene can be or already is supporting local music. Let's get it.
